Post-Massage Melon
Happy Monday !I am such a laid-back chicka lately...I nap (alot),and I watch lots of movies laying on the sofa with a smushy pillow and lots of AC. I am really into comfort dressing lately as well. Must be the heat.... And, I LOVE a good massage!A massage is the treat of all treats, way above roses and chocolate...My hubby bought me a massage way back in February, and I finally got it. So here I

Cool, Wide and Low-Key...
Hi everyone :)I'm not sure how this outfit came together...It all started as about 3 different looks and melded into this, which usually my favorite outfits just kind of fall together without too much planning or thinking. I actually saw someone wearing shiny gold sandals the other day with rolled up boyfriend jeans and a blazer, so I kinda stole the concept, sans blazer... And jeans...I've had

Beatles Photographs From Their American Debut Head To Christie's
"Photographer Mike Mitchell was only 18 when he received a presspass to document the Beatles as they arrived in Washington D.C.'s Union Station to perform their first concert in the country. For almost 50 years the photographs from that historical moment in Beatlemania had been gathering dust in Mitchell's basement -- until he became a victim of the U.S. housing crisis. It was then that the
When I'm an Old(er) Woman, I Shall Wear Purple....
Hi all :)This was an all-air conditioned , matchy-matchy garb ...When I had this outfit in mind, it seemed cute, but I think I'm heading into "Grandma shouldn't be wearing such high heels, she might break a hip territory", LOL! ( No offense intended, I love Nana's)....Or how about Peggy Bundy? (Married with Children)But, in retrospect, big purple hat and shoes might have been better worn with a

Floppies and Florals
Hi everybody! I've been dying to wear these leggings and finally the weather permitted, well kinda ;).... I just can't resist rose patterns! Then last year I went floppy hat crazy and feel the need to at least wear one per week, as to get my money's worth, so this week it's the black one. I still have pink, purple, red and a neutral straw one. So you've been warned :)Now for my weekend update

Heat, Humidity, Snapshots and The "Girls"
Hi everyone! I admit, I've been really lazy this week. Most of my time has been spent indoors...However, I had errands to run today and I popped on this skirt as a top in honor of the lovely Christina of Second Skin Style. I'm really not sure if she is still around as the last post I saw was a May entry...I used to work for Sears, and when these little skirts went on clearance, I bought each

Surfing Sin City With Ashley Bickerton
"Ashley Bickerton has darkened his timbre after carousing the neon-lit nights of Pan-Asian hotspots. He says that he's entered a new phase - his kids have grown, he's newly separated, and as such, work follows life. He tells me that a while back it was filled with: "Pregnant wives and giggling babies. My work was full of sun-dappled, sparkling, turquoise blue waters, beauty and optimism. And

Tyson Grumm's 'Dream #84' At Obsolete Gallery In Venice
"Tyson Grumm's painting, "Dream #84," for which his upcoming exhibition is named, is a memorable centerpiece for the show. An elephant fitted with an umbrella seems to swing its leaden legs through the air, unconcerned that it's floating. In the background, the Hagia Sophia stands, partly obscured by trees, and a water tower appears stenciled or graffitied to a wall in the foreground.""The

Summer Silk Part Two ....
Hi Everybody :) Thank God there is a day-long 'Cycle something-or-other' re-run of ANTM, cause I can't take this heat! I melt like a tub of butter....I wither like a rose plucked off the vine and left to rot. OK, that wasn't very poetic... But you get the jist...Needless to say, these photos were taken yesterday and I have yet to even peek my head out the door. Yes, I am an air-conditioner

Summer in Silk....
Happy Monday everyone :)I am wearing silk and loving it ! I used to avoid silk, as the "dry-clean-only" tag made me shiver, plus I somehow thought silk was a 'fancy' fabric - a bit too stuffy for me...But lately, I am not enjoying wearing the traditional tanks and anything that shows too much arm (or boob ;) so, I gave silk a go. I wanted something cool as the temps. here in Cincy are hot and

Art Bollocks
This is pretty funny and has a lot of truth to it. "The art world is teeming with professionals - curators, critics, journalists and many others - who are in the business of imposing their own narratives on the practice of artists, manipulating, for their own ends, the primary product that artists produce. It's a situation analogous to that of the food industry, where the primary producers of

Early Paintbox
"The collapsible tin paint tube was invented in 1841, and by 1860 or so they were in general use. Early watercolor paint sets with powered cakes are seen on occasion, but sets like the one above with corked and bottled colors to be mixed by the artist are scarce indeed. In around 1827 (?) the British company Ackermann sold a paint box, but an auction catalog indicates "early marked pigment

Red, White and Blue & Black and White ........
OK, so I was going to play "Yankee Doodle" for you while sitting in front of my red door, but I kept messing up. Then I did a video of the most boring neighborhood fireworks ever, but it put me to sleep, so pretend you are watching cool fireworks while listening to a serenade on my recorder :)Also, in these photos I am officially bra-less and it's not as bad as I thought, though I didn't venture

Celebrating the Living Legends of Jazz
"...jazz has proven time and again that it is a durable art form, a resilient performance art that is beyond categorization. As I have stated previously, jazz is an art form that has become the most internationally cooperative means of communication in the world today. I truly believe this. On this fourth of July let our passion continue this yearly celebration of these communicators -- those who
