Victorian Gap

Hi all !I have a weakness for Gap rose prints and though this sundress was my new size, the top was iffy... But since I couldn't resist, I knew it would either end up as a skirt or vested. I'm not sure what the straight top is called other than umpire, but it seems like an early Victorian style. I call it "early bar wench", Or perhaps just a bit too tight up top. Luckily, I had my scarf ...Though

I Got the Blues (but in a good way!)

Hi everybody!Another week is upon us and today is supposed to be the purr-fect day!So, we will be hitting the trails asap (After Some Awakened Preparation)...Yesterday, I felt very girly and realized this little peter pan collared dress has been hanging on my rack all summer. The last time I wore it, I paired it with a military jacket and browns. Lately, I've had a thing for heavy cloth belts and

Neutrals and Perceived Flaws

Hi, everyone,One of the things I am finally beginning to learn since blogging is the harder you try to hide a self perceived  'flaw' the more apparent it is.Why I thrifted this 'dress/skirt'? 1). Because it was 1/2 price day and was in the skirt section, thus it was only two bucks. (Yipee!)2). I always snag up neutrals to pair with other stuff.3). It was really full and I like that.I was a bit

Photos or Content ?

I haven't done a "Fashion and Philosophy" post in a long while, Buttt......I saw this as a perfect opportunity ;) *(Remember these are my thoughts only)*I just paroozed the IFB weekly roundup of Links a La Mode, and of course the first one I clicked on was yet another "What's wrong with Blogs" ... Or better yet the writers/creators of them. The"Question my approach, Should I feel bad about myself"

Okay, you stole that awesome painting from the musuem...

...now what do you do with it? Now you know!"The consensus in the media is that there’s no market for stolen art. Not so!"“I’ve met with fences from all over the world,” said Christopher Marinello, executive director of the Art Loss Register in London. “People who will buy stolen art from you on five percent of its value and then try to move it on. Pastels, Knots and Pearls

Happy Friday :)Well, what can I say about this week?  It was mostly spent in the same outfit, though not PJ's ;) - I wore and slept in the same grey sweater and tan skirt for about 3 days. When I finally peeled it off yesterday, it stood up all by itself - well almost ;)     Losing a beloved kitty is hard. Real hard. But a bath helped (nudged on by my hubby), lots of hugs and tears. I still

Goodbye.......

On Friday afternoon, we had to say goodbye to our precious Bitty Bitty. She was almost 18 years old, and had been having health problems for a while. About three day before, she stopped eating and was getting weaker and weaker. On Thursday, she gently looked at me and cried a soft mew that told me she was ready. We called our Vet, made the final plans and spent a few more hours with her, loving

I Can Feel It Coming In The Air .....

This post is brought to you by the letters N,M & S.As in No More Sweat and Not Much More Summer! And happen to be the consonants in Nemesis, hmmm ;) I really don't hate Summer, But i am glad to be feeling Autumn approaching. It has begun to cool down here in Cincy and my chigger/mosquito bites are finally beginning to heal. The sky is beginning to look a bit mysterious and the air is feeling

Jesus Painting Found in Motor Home

This is pretty cool...."Praise Frosty! That's the name of the 73-year-old man who had a priceless portrait of Jesus Christ sitting in the closet of his Tennessee motor home.""The painting, which has been missing for 150 years, was based on the "Veil of Veronica" — according to legend, a sweat cloth that a Jesus groupie dabbed upon his face right before his crucifixion, imprinting his likeness

Pose Like A Pro

Happy Monday everyone!!!This post is brought to you by 1. My deep-set need for the perfect photo, 2. The idea that you don't have to stand to show off your outfit (usually ;) and 3. I was too lazy this weekend to wear anything too creative other than tees and tightie whities! So, I spent much of my Sunday paroozing U-tube for some tips to use, when I ran across this, (and other than the biker

Why Creative People Are So Vain

Don't know how much of this I believe, but it is a good read."A new study shows that while highly creative people may be more open-minded than regular joes, they also tend to be more arrogant." "According to MSNBC, psychologists subjected 1,300 college students to "a personality test and various creativity questionnaires." Of the six personality traits they looked at, they found that openness to
